Privacy policy
This is a personal blog and a static site - no accounts, no comments, no contact form, no third-party scripts. There is very little to tell you, and this page tells you all of it.
The short version
- There is no analytics here. Reading an article sends nothing to me.
- I don't set any cookies. One preference is stored in your browser and stays there.
- Fonts, icons and images are served from this domain, so loading a page makes no request to anyone else.
- My host keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, to serve pages and block abuse. I don't read or analyse them.
What's stored in your browser
These are read only by this site, in your browser. They are never sent to me, and they aren't used to identify you or follow you anywhere.
| Name | Type | Purpose | How long | How to remove it |
|---|---|---|---|---|
theme | Browser storage | Remembers whether you chose light, dark, or system | Until you clear it | Set the theme back to System, or clear this site's data |
Under UK rules a preference like this doesn't need a consent banner, as long as you're told what it's for and given a simple, free way to opt out. That's what this section is, and the theme switcher in the header is the opt-out - set it back to System and nothing is kept.
Analytics
There is no analytics on this site at the moment - no Google Analytics, no page-view counter, nothing. If that ever changes, this page will be updated before it does, nothing will load until you've been asked and agreed, and declining will be as easy as accepting.
Hosting
This site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like virtually any host, that means basic technical data - your IP address, the page requested and a timestamp - passes through their servers to deliver the page and guard against abuse. That is ordinary web hosting rather than tracking: I don't access those logs, and nothing from them is used for analytics or shared for marketing.
Your choices
Because this site holds essentially nothing about you, there is rarely anything to look up - but if you want to ask what's held, or have something deleted, email me below and I'll deal with it.
If you're in the UK you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office; elsewhere in Europe, to your local data protection authority.
Contact
Questions about any of this: angelosioakdev@gmail.com. This site is run by me, Angelos Ioakeimidis, as a personal project. If the policy changes in any meaningful way, the date at the top of this page changes too.
